Day 6 going on 7: Celebrate Gleek Times, C'mon!

"Glee kids!  Hooray!"
- Emma Pillsbury (Showmance)

Google "Glee" and "Golden Globes 2010" and yeah... you get various articles like the following:

and then there are the Entertainment Weekly articles/interviews with three of the four Glee nominees (in addition to Matt Morrison for Lead Actor in Comedy and Jane Lynch for Supporting Actress) including Lea Michele for Lead Actress in Comedy.

Granted, the Globes are child's play compared to an Emmy (cross them fingers for at least Jane Lynch getting a nod), but still... this is how I felt upon discovering the news:

Woohoo!  And people were worried that Glee wouldn't have made it past episode 5... Okay, actually I myself was one of those people.  Why?  Well, to sum it up, I shall let the oh so idiotic yet slightly wise Peter Griffin explain (starting from 0:53 seconds to 1:45).

"Well unfortuantely Lois, there's just no more room on the schedule. We just gotta accept the fact that FOX has to make room for terrific shows like Dark Angel, Titus, Undeclared, Action, That 80's Show, Wonder Falls, Fast Lane, Andy Richter Controls The Universe, Skin, Girl's Club, Cracking Up, The Pitts, Firefly, Get Real, Freaky Links, Wanda At Large, Costello, The Lone Gunman, A Minute with Stan Hooper, Normal Ohio, Pasadena, Harsh Realm, Keen Eddy, The Street, American Embassy, Cedric The Entertainer, The Tick, Louie, And Greg The Bunny...."

Needless to say that network has broken my heart more times than I could count.  So to have an amazing show like Glee on such a station... Well, FOX has once more captured my fragile TV loving heart.

But I digress...

The past two days have been nothing really exciting.  I'm totally counting down the days until I will own the first (of hopefully MANY) DVDs.

I had also watched the film Julie & Julia.  Loved it!  It was especially entertaining to see Jane Lynch in a non-Sue role.  We (the fiance and I) almost didn't recognize her until Chris (fiance) pointed her out in shock!

And earlier today (which is technically NOW, at one o'clock in the AM on the first non-Glee Wednesday, yesterday) I had re-watched the Fall Finale before I had gone into work.

I still smile every time I see that final performance!  I will admit, it has a very Kid Bop-ish sound (and I absolutely loathe that franchise, by the way... what?  How could you like children singing songs like "My Immortal" or "Come on Over Baby (All I want is you)" or "My Boo" or "Toxic"?  Children?!... moving on...) yet what sold me on the whole damn thing was the PERFORMANCE number!  I would like to kiss the choreographer of that number because it is absolutely fan-friendly BRILLIANT!

And that number, that performance right there... the feeling I had, the smile on my face when it was all said and done... My God I had that same feeling months back when the pilot episode premiered and we had watched the kids of "New Direction" belt out "Don't Stop Believing"!

The feeling of awe, of excitement, of knowing that what we are witnessing is so absolutely unique and special despite it all.

*sigh* Today, Wednesday, makes me miss the show and anticipate the Spring half of the first season even more...

But no.  I shall not mourn, I shall celebrate!  Why? Because of the Golden Globe nods and the fact that once the year ends, soon enough April will be here and we get our show back!
