Day 18 going on 19: Don't Stop Breaking Free

Wow.  That sounds like a bad pop mash-up if I ever heard of one... Especially if the two songs being combined are the Glee cast version's "Don't Stop Believing" and High School Musical's "Breaking Free."

And if you've decided to read this far, then yes I sadly will be subjecting you in my talks of the Disney Channel tween sensation High School Musical.

Why?  Because -- as much as I cringed to even dare compare the two -- I can't help but be reminded of the Troy-Gabriella pairing whenever I watch this scene:

And from there, I am reminded of this scene:

Call me crazy (or a big Disney Pop fan... sadly whichever comes first applies and honestly it's probably the latter); but I can't help but smile every time I watch either clips and sigh "Awww" whenever Troy (Finn) holds his hand out to Gabriella (Rachel) and watch her as she spins/dances her way towards him -- and if you watch both clips enough times as I have, you'll see (sadly) the similarities.

Which is probably why when Glee first aired the Pilot episode, a lot of naysayers were crying "HSM!"

But as it's been proven thirteen episodes in; the humor, the situations, the drama, even the songs are anything but Disney-fied (though I question "Gold Digger").

I don't own anything Disney... I just own their merchandise (HSM trilogy DVDs, soundtracks, etc.) which I purchased immediately from my local retailer.   I'm just sayin'... Don't want to piss off the House of Mouse... I've watched South Park, I've seen what Mickey did to the Jo Bros...
